RFIDefence Plus is a new website offering credit and debit card blocking sleeves designed to thwart Identity thieves from remotely stealing your card data along with your cash. Many times your data is stolen and sold to third parties who make purchases in your name. You may not find out about it until your get your credit card statement. For more information on how this is done and how you can protect yourself, click here!
It occurs when someone uses your personally identifying information, like your name, Social Security number, or credit card number, without your permission, to commit fraud or other crimes. Identity thieves use your personal information for a variety of reasons such as to make credit card purchases, rent an apartment, or establish other accounts in your name!
How closely do you review your credit card bills before paying them? If you don't look closely, you could be paying bogus charges month after month without realizing that someone has stolen your identity and your cash! The machine component you see here is named a Heat Fuser, a small electric oven which has a constant correct heat maintained by a thermostat. It was a key component for the one of the original Xerox prototypes prior to the introduction of the first commercial copying machine, the Xerox 914 photocopier unveiled at a trade show in New York City at the Sherry Netherland Hotel in September 16, 1959. (The 914 got it's name from the fact the machine could photocopy images as large as 9" x 14.") Launched by the Rochester based former Haloid Xerox, it made photocopying cheap, easy and ubiquitous. And it's subsequent success helped make what it now known as Xerox Corp...a Connecticut-based Fortune 500 company.
The 914 utitized a round selenium drum which is the heart of the xerographic process. It's surface was very delicate in that it had to be absolutely clean of any foreign matter. Prior to developing this drum, the prototype units relied of a flat 9" x 14" selenium plate. This plate was charged in a charging chamber in a Processor and then exposed to an original document after which it is baked for a few seconds in the Heat Fuser (see picture). This operation makes permanent the image on the final copy paper.
Please study the pictures and diagrams and ascertain if you are interested in owning this rare piece of equipment from the early days of photocoping research. The only one that I am aware of exists in the Xerox Historical Center along with it's other companion components. As I am not aware of it's potential value to a collector, I am listing it appropriately and am open to legitimate offers. My email address is mintshape@netacc.net.

Many credit cards, driver license, passports, etc made since 2006 contain imbedded RFID chips.A smart card is a plastic card about the size of a credit card, with an embedded microchip that can be loaded with data, used for telephone calling, electronic cash payments, and other applications, and then periodically refreshed for additional use. Most cards made after 2006 contain an RFID chip that holds more information than the current magnetic strip (which will soon be phased out).

As radio frequency “smart cards” proliferate in North America, Europe and Asia, a new Smart Card Sleeve (envelope) prevents unintended transmission or theft of personal data. In a significant advance for consumer privacy and security worldwide, financial institutions, governments, businesses and other distributors of contactless “smart cards,” (includes credit and debit cards) consumers now have access to lightweight card sleeves that completely shield all personal and financial information on the card’s memory chip from theft or unauthorized transmission.
RFIDefence announced today that it is marketing low-cost Smart Card Sleeves (envelopes) that shields a smart card and its electronic information when mailed or carried in an individual’s purse, wallet or pocket. The company is initially targeting sales to consumers (individuals) to obtain feedback about it’s usage and potential to become an advertising specialty for small business as it can be pre-printed with logos or business advertising. The product prevents personal data in the smart card’s embedded integrated circuit from being transmitted via radio frequency (RF) waves to any smart card reading device. Unauthorized access of personal and financial information is a reality today—and the threat is growing .For issuers of smart cards, our secure mailers and card sleeves are a cost-effective, practical way to protect personal privacy. For individuals with smart cards, it’s like having your sensitive personal data in a portable lead vault.
